New Year’s Eve 2016 in Rome: our guide

New Year’s Eve, Capodanno or Notte di San Silvestro in Italian,  is just around the corner and there are so many things to do in Rome! You can breathe a New Year atmosphere in every small part of the ancient and modern city.

If you like music, you can’t miss the “Concertone” which  has been in doubt in the past days but it has now been confirmed. Live on stage Negramaro, a famous Italian band, and Edoardo Bennato. The show at Circo Massimo starts at 10 pm.

For those who love music and are looking for somenthing really special, there are the South Carolina Mass Choir performing for the Roma Gospel Fest at the Auditorium Parco della Musica and Sister Act The musical at Teatro Brancaccio.

Would you like to experience the famous  dinner called “Cenone di Capodanno”? In this case, It’d be better to reserve a table in advance.

If you have children and they ask for somenthing very funny for New Year’s Eve, you can go to Rainbow Magic Land: it will be open until 6 in the morning for the “Holi New Year party”.

The city’s metro lines normally stay open till late on New Year’s Eve, until 02.30 on 1 January, while the city’s bus, trams and light-rail services usually finish on 31 December at around 21.00, and there’s no night bus service. Check the website Muoversi a Roma for all updates.
